Description:
|
Conchas Lake State Park is 34 miles northwest of Tucumcari via NM 104. The campground on a bluff overlooking the lake has 40 developed sites with water and electricity. Facilities also include restrooms and showers.
One of the state's largest lakes includes 60 miles of varied shoreline, secluded coves, canyons, and sandy beaches. Ancient rock formations date back to the Age of Dinosaurs. Observant visitors may discover the fossils of ancient sea creatures.

Remote, serene location

Remote, serene location may be unsuitable for those who desire nearby restaurants, shopping, etc. The nearest Starbucks is a three hour drive.

A great, out-of-the-way destination, but not on the way anywhere. Plan to stay at least two nights, and try to arrange a tour of the inner workings of the dam. That's right it's hollow, and it's fascinating!
