[QUOTE=Top;1257755]Howdy,
I recently purchased a 1951 15 panel flying Cloud SN 7086. Her name is Ella. I found her on the airstreamclassifieds.com. I towed her home from Florida this past weekend.
A few pics. Everyone likes pics, right?
You are getting as bad as me. Only six more to go!
Glad you got it. We had looked at it, but, no time to go get it.
Enjoy!!!

With that serial number it should have a ladder frame. That S/N is a late year '51.

As Bruce stated, it is a ladder frame. On the Vintage Airstream photo archives, the highest number pipe frame is 7055.

We tow it with a 1958 Cadillac Sedan Deville. We bought it in September 2008, put tires on it and greased the wheel bearings, then pulled it from Boise ID to the Oregon coast and back (1500 miles).
When we returned I parked it in the patio and spent 500 hours on the interior. Attached are some pictures.

I could not remember my old forum name so started another (COLONEL). Well I am replying to my own post. We moved to Oregon Coast a year 1/2 ago. Sold the 1958 Cadillac and got a 1992 Oldsmobile Custom Crusier wagon. I just recently repaired and got my Krefft Refridgerator working.
We met Barry and Donna, and some other vintage Airstreamers before we move. This summer we would like to meet up for a rally or two in Oregon or Washington.

Lee and Stephanie,
We moved from Idaho to the coast of Oregon in OCT 2011. We are looking for some Vintage meets this summer. We have a 1958 Flying Cloud. Please post any thing you know of and we hope to meet some like minded people in Vintage Aluminumcana.

Flying Cloud Registry
Finally getting around to posting about my 1958 Flying Cloud, Ser. # 8372. Had it for a year and is now gutted. Am doing a shell on restoration....or at least it looks that way so far. Can't wait to get finished and camp in her so we can decide which size we like best. Joy

After a long drawn out search and a couple of false starts , we have finally found our whaletail.. It's a 1954 Flying Cloud sn. 7675. Needs lots of TLC and a new make over. We can hardly contain ourselves.

Hold me back
Just located a 1953 Flying Cloud that the guy sent pictures of-doesn't look too bad but has been sitting for years and has lots of stuff that doesn't work. He's been looking at Ebay prices and thinks he needs $5000 for it so he and his wife can upgrade to something larger. I think that price would be for a trailer that was operational and didn't have tires/axles from the 50's on it.
On the other hand, would love to pick this one up if I could get it for the right price. I told him some of the costs of restoration but I don't think he fully gets it. By the way, one of the first questions I asked him was "Do you have a title??". That is very, very important having gone through the other nightmare with no title.
Any ideas on this trailer as far as worth? Fair price to offer? If it looks as good as I think, which is never accurate from phone pictures, what is advisable?
Also.....SO EXCITED to have found another Airstream that could join my other AS family members. Just need to get to see it, come to a decision, then offer a fair price. Last step roll up in the yard with a new Airstream as DH comes home from work. He'll be so excited!
Sandy
