I love my Flying Cloud. I think it is the perfect size. Not too big not too small. Just right!

Now I am curious how many of these 21-22 ft. beauties are still out there. I am going to try to create and maintain a registry of them. If you are willing to add your trailer to this list let me know by either posting or a PM. All I am looking for is Serial #, Your name, forum name, and general location of the trailer (don't have to be too specific).

I see this as being very useful to other owners who are looking for resources in the rebuilding and maintaining of their trailers.

Hi Greg

I agree that the Flying Clouds are great trailers. A good size, at least for my wife and I, good looking, true lightweights, and a piece of Americana when we like to think things were simpler. The best part of owning any Airstream is that it comes with a huge family of fellow enthusiasts.

Glad to see another registry of these beautiful vintage units. I've started one for TradeWind's and currently have 52 for the '59 and '60 models years. Way to go Greg ! !

I dropped in on a WBCCI rally today in Malibu ,Ca and there were 2 FC's in attendance from the El Camino Real Region. Did not get their details but apparently there are several more in their local group in the So.Cal area.
They apparently have enough in their club to form what they loosely term 'The FC Squardron".
I'll see if I can connect some dots here!

My FC seems to be a bit unusual in that it has a '54 Safari floorplan with the galley and bathroom in the front, street side dinette, and rear twin beds. Does anyone else have that floorplan too?

My current count of Flying Cloud trailers with serial numbers is as follows:

1950 - 5
1951 - 6
1952 - 1
1953 - 5
1954 - 3
1955 - 4
1956 - 2
1957 - 5
1958 - 3
1959 - 2
1960 - 0
1961 - 0
1962 - 0
1963 - 0

I know there are more out there than that. I have seen signatures of at least 3 people on the forums that say they have a 1963. Why not post your serial#'s. I would love to find them all.

Serial number correction- I goofed!
Actual # is 8196. CA production.

FYI I also found that this number was hand wriitten on the inside of the broom closet. I have seen this practice on several trailers where the furniture was designated for install in that particlular unit.

Also the the wood (quite possibly all cabinetry) in this unit and also in a '67 Safari I restored both had stencilled logos of a supplier in JAPAN.
It appears Wally was acxtively doing business with Japan quite soon after WWll.

the fine people over at vintageairstream.com have a 1956 flying cloud #8022. i remembered that number because mine is the big sister/brother at #8021. i'm not sure if they are on the forums here.

I know of at least 12 people who list having Flying clouds in their profile that have not let me know their serial numbers.

Come on folks. Aren't you at least curious how many of these still exist?

Oftentimes a thread will only be up for a short while and if you do not log on regularly you can miss it.
I would suggest PM'ing those that you know of (easy to do 5 at a time) and prompting them to participate for the benefit of all.
