Mattress Size

Doesn't anyone have a measurement on the mid twin mattress for a 1973 26ft?

I know my 66 Trade Wind mattress dimensions are 75 long by 34 wide. I'm told this is a "bunk" sized mattress. I know a household twin mattress is 75 by 39. I have not purchased new mattresses for our Trade Wind yet, so the old twin mattresses from the basement are in their for now. They are too big, but they will do for now.

Your Safari is the new body style which offered more interior room. The mattresses may be larger than my old Trade Wind.

Suggest you send an email to AS at JC, Ohio. State your complete VIN, and ask for a mattress schematic to be emailed to you. Voila!

We had a mattress made to Schematic spec by one of the Forum's advertisers - all radii perfect, the price was right, and a much better sleeper than the 10 yr old original equipment.

BTW, this works for electrical, plumbing, and other obscure construction details. Still excellent service after the sale.

Thanks, AS Mgmt, Thor, et al at Johnson City. Much appreciated. Wally would be proud of you. jsutro

Do you know if you could replace the gaucho with a queen sized sleeper sofa in an 82 28' MoHO? Is there enough room with zero back clearance to fully extend?
