Thanks Steve. My 2 year Manufacturers warranty has lapsed so now its the open market. The EUG area is loaded with repair shops large and small.

Let us know how your repairs wash out.

Will do....I am calling Atwood this week and then probably the local Airstream dealer. They are not know for good customer service and I am kind of dreading it but will get started on figuring out the water heater issue. I am considering a road trip to Jackson Center next year before the warranty is up.

Yesterday we lucked out with a site off the waiting list at Hither Hills SP through Saturday morning. No hookups and lots of tent campers and families, so pretty low key and quiet after dark. No campfires allowed during the summer here due to fire risk. The attached pano view gives a sense of the place. We are behind the large green tent on the left end.

Amazing sunrises and sunsets, although this morning we were socked in by a heavy fog, which burned off by 10 or so, followed by a cool SW ocean breeze around 75 F.

Nice to be on the road again and to get all the systems working including the Yamaha propane gen we got last year.

Happy Trails!

Peter

Looks great Peter, enjoy your stay. How did the van do towing the 20?

Thanks. The van is great, just like the last one but a little heavier duty and a stiffer ride. Should permit some more camping gear in the back of the van. i need to get the rig weighed but the nearest scales are too far away. May have extra capacity to tow a larger AS?

Are you doing another campground volunteer type stint this summer?

Thinking of leaving us for a larger unit? Ha ha
Yes but for now we are traveling. We are currently in Seattle then on down the coast. We have been on the road for 3 1/2 weeks now visiting National parks and family.
My volunteer month begins July 30th so have to be home before then.

Will do. Any shots from the Pacific NW would be welcome as well. A clear summer day on the coast there can be magical, as the normal fog and drizzle keeps the populations low for the most part. A spectacular coast as Bob and others have posted over the last couple of years.

Someday maybe we'll get there!

Travel safe.

I am going to buy a tire monitoring system, any suggestions? I only need it for the trailer, my truck already has one.

I had attempted to puch up all contacts that I could reach, so maybe the re-crimping is a good idea. The Service guy said when re-crimped they are extremely difficult to get off...good as sometimes the furnace rumbles like a jet.

Guess what...Fake news.

As I mentioned earlier, on the third try to pick up Blue now that the repairs were finally done (NOT)... the furnace failed to fire after the fan started. Received the real diagnosis and guess what...error code 1: Failed limit/sail switch diagnosis was correct which is what I indicated to the dealer on day 1.

Two weeks for the switch. That will be pushing 3 months in the shop for a furnace repair, micro-pulse replacement and some very nickle/dime poor workmanship corrections. Aaaaand a 8.43VDC battery reading tossed in for good measure

idahodian, This is where I'm heading, for either the new 15" Nokians or GYE & OEM 15" T-02 rims.

They sell a 2 sensor system ($179 last year) as I also only need it for the TT. Let us know where you land and how it works for you.

Thanks Bob, sorry for the furnace fiasco! Great tune which I re-posted on the OTRA music channel. Weather has been iffy so no photos as yet. Major rain squall last night, and more today. Still . . . great to be on the road again!

Have a good weekend, all.

A little embarrassed but at Mt Rainier I took out our steps driving into our campsite

Thankfully we ordered replacement steps through Airstream Northwest and I replaced the old with new steps. We lucked out in that the banana wrap between the wheel well and the step was the only other damage and I'll have that replaced when we get home.
The Goodyears are doing well. They run some what cooler as well. I bought a infrared gun before our trip to monitor them.

Oops . . . been there done that with our old 25' and the fancy aluminum steps that folded down more elegantly.

Happens to many of us at some point. My main take-away from most events like this is the old adage, "Haste makes waste" -- for what it's worth! And trust me . . . know this one too . . . the main internal mantra is often, "Slow down, Peter, slow down . . . what's the rush . . . ? "

Glad you were able to swap out the steps and keep going. That's what this adventure is all about. As we say in construction, the best carpenter is not the one who never makes mistakes, it is the carpenter whose mistakes can be corrected and remain unseen.

Any photos of Mt. Ranier? Now there's a mountain! BTW, did the steps damage the mountain in any way?

Have fun!
