Water pump

Does anyone else have problems with the lights dimming when the water pump cycles on? We have been having issues with the water pump. Had it replaced. The second gave out the next day and we got another. The original water pump dimmed the lights as well and eventually would only shut off if you shut it off at the switch.

Curious to know if I really have a water pump issue or a wiring issue?

Sounds like you might have a grounding issue.

Just from the statement the lights would dim when pump came on would lead be to believe you might have a loose ground creating increase resistance.

Sounds like you have a couple of different issues.
1) When a water pump continues to keep running, it either means you have a leak, or the pump head is not able to maintain pressure, so it keeps running.
2) The coach lights will momentarily dim as the pump turns on, as it does draw quite a bit of energy. The only way to circumvent this would be to wire the pump directly to the coach batteries, instead of through the fuse block that the coach lights are hooked into as well.

Cheers

I’m just jumping in to say ....my lights will dim just a tad when the water pump kicks on while using battery power. It doesn’t happen when hooked up to 30 or 50 amp power source.

On our 2017 25a AS FC when Vinnie’s recommend we upgrade to the new converter charger along with our new AGM 6v install to what AS now uses, a side benefit after the upgrade was the dimming lights stoped when using the water pump.
