Traveling with cats

We’re new to trailer travel. Both of our cats are getting on and we were wondering if anyone travels with their pets secured in the trailer. If so how? My concerns are for their safety and health i.e. too hot in the trailer and the cats “bouncing” around.

Absolutely would never let a pet of any sort ride in the trailer unattended. Our pack of 4 dogs rides in pairs in crates in the back seat of our TV or secured via seat belt and harness. No air conditioning and too much noise and bumping around in the AS. They sleep most of the way on the interstate highways and will wake up when I slow down in city traffic. One has a very distinct " are we there yet" vocalization when we slow down. He's the one that likes travel the least, but he puts up with it.

Crate for travel. In the trailer when you're there with them.

Our cat travels with us in the truck and when we stop for food, sightseeing... we put her in the trailer to stretch, get something to eat, or use the restroom. Never would I travel with my cat in the trailer.

Stretching and bathroom breaks are big concerns. Thank you all for your responses.
