Title: 1988 Airstream 290 29 - North Carolina
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
1988 Airstream 29 foot. It's built on the P-30 Chevy truck chassis with a 454 V8 and turbo 400 automatic trans mission with Gear Vendor overdrive. It has a Banks Power Pack Header system, Gear Vendor overdrive 6 speeds forward, new overdrive, Jacobs ignition system with Mallory spark advance. The engine was rebuilt about 8K miles ago by a speed shop in Utah. A roller cam was installed at this time plus all new water pump, fuel pump, power steering pump, new carb, intake manifold, radiator, transmission cooler, drive line u-joints, with new carrier bearing. All work was done by pros. In about the last Three years New Domestic 3-way frig, exhaust fans, reupholstered the chair like original. Equipped with dual ac. units with heat, fantastic fan w/rain sensor, 6gal Atwood water heater with motor-aid-type assist, new smart charging system, pioneer sound system, long curbside Zip-Dee Awning, 6.5Kw generator. This is a very clean coach with a lot of upgrades to the drive train. It has a new dual exhaust system with Catback mufflers. (Sounds like a Chris Craft going down the road) Six new radial truck tires. Three new batteries and cables. At 29 ft it's the perfect size for two people. This model has the rear bedroom with twin beds. Garage kept it's whole life.
I looked a long time to find an Airstream in this great of condition. I found this one in Arizona a year ago. I had it loaded on a flatbed and trucked here. The plan was to travel the country this past summer with my 19 y/o son. Due to medical issues this didn't happen. It's time for me to downsize.
If you're trying to lay low this is not for you. It will attract lots of attention everywhere you go.
Prior to coming to look at it.......please talk to your wife first. It'll save a lot of time and hassle for both of us.
