We did it!
Just purchased a 2014 Eddie Bauer 27 ft trailer. Not able to pick it up till late May or June. We were worried that this might be the last production year for this model and we really liked the versatility of the Eddie Bauer.
I want to thank PharmGeek for his many posts as he came to his decision to purchase his bunkhouse last year. His many insightful posts were really helpful.
We are So looking forward to picking our trailer up.
Still trying to make a decision on insurance. We are going with the Pro Pride hitch. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated .

Congrats, we went with progressive and have had our cars insured by them for about 15 years. 350 for the year here in Rhode Island on a 16 sport.

Our insurance is through homeowners. We have it insured for replacement value of 90K and it costs 661./yr.

You are going to LOVE it! We picked our Eddie up the end of February. We have had 3 short trips and are planning to leave in two weeks for a month. We are so excited and can't wait! We went with the same company that insures our vehicle, but will probably check with Sam's Club and a few others. I don't think you are ever going to regret your decision. We bought ours for the same reason - scared it was in the final days of production. Have fun and safe travels!

Read The Newbies Guide to Airstreaming. Written by Richard Luhr, after he spent 3 years on the road with spouse, and teen age daughter in a 25ft. The check lists alone are worth the price. It also came standard in our new manual packet when we took possession of our 2014 30ft FC. Also have it on my Kindle for quick reference.

I agree with Luigi^^^^
We are picking up our first Airstream soon and I bought the Newbies Guide to Airstreaming and am very happy I did. Quick read and packed with basic, helpful information that could easily get overlooked by a Newbie, like me. I bought it on Amazon for ess than $15.

The Newbies Guide to Airstreaming came with my trailer...
Have y'all looked in the 2 cases containing owner's manuals for all the appliance and electronics?

Yes! I was kinda surprised by all the info - felt maybe they could have left out all of the installation guides! Lots of material for sure!

Warranty cards are important an easy step to miss in all the acquisition excitement--we did.
Also, get extra key blanks from dealer for a third set just in case, and leave with someone you can contact 24/7 to overnight to you when "OS moment happens"

Congratulaitons!
This is truly an exciting moment for you! And I believe that you made a great choice.
We bought our 27' EB from Colonial last November and are going to pick it up in about ten days. We have some prior travel commitments in late-April/May so our first real trip in the unit will be to Alumapalooza right after Memorial Day.

Congratulations, the Airstream EB and ProPride are top-shelf. Couldn't have done better for long-term camping and towing enjoyment. This forum has excellent tips on control of corrosion and trailer leaks through regular inspection and maintenance to make it last a lifetime and look good all the way. As well as other fun stuff. Stay with us, tell us about your travels.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!~!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I might add, go ahead and buy spare fuses along with key blanks...ask about any "odd" fuses...I think I bought a couple for the jack as I was told those can easily blow...
I promise I never have anything inciteful to say...I just ask so many darn questions that statiscially, at some point, some one or many of those question may appear to be inciteful
besides extra key blanks, pick up any odd ball fuses from the dealer while you are there and stow them away along with other spare fuses.
That EB model look oh so darn cool! I have not been able to see one up close...shoot you are in mobile...I am sure at some point we will run across each other!!
Good luck!

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle
Congratulations on your new baby. May you have many great Airstream adventures together.
An extra set of keys is really important. It is super easy to lock an Airstream door on the way out of the trailer. On two occasions over the years, we have lock our keys in the trailer. Fortunately, we have door keys secreted on the Airstream. If we had not, we would have been greatly inconvenienced.
We originally had our Airstream insurance with a specialty carrier through Good Sam Club. After a couple of years, I found that I was able to do significantly better with my automobile carrier which in my case is Allstate.
The ProPride is a good choice. You will not regret having spent the extra money for it.
Be sure to check out the various sewer dumping systems here on the Forums. There are several ways to go depending on your camping style and situation.
Keep in mind that many RV salesmen have never camped in a RV of any kind, and don't know what they are talking about.
Your best source of information is right here on these Forums.
Brian

Wow, what a nice welcome from everyone.
Colonial offered us a deal that we just did not have the heart to refuse. It was probably in the ball park of the majority of what everyone receives but Lauern was so informative and nice over the phone, that we just went with it. Looking forward to picking it up in May or June depending on my work schedule.
Planning on getting the Newbies Guild to Airstreaming, thanks for the suggestion Luigi.
Also will get the extra key bank, I know one day in the future, locked out of our trailer I will be glad to have them.
You can never have enough fuses especially odd ones.
PharmGeek we followed your posts when you were getting your trailer, thanks for asking all the questions I would not of thought to ask. We were looking at the bunkhouse also.
Eight grand kids who love to camp and we were thinking about trying to fit them all in. But we decided on the EB, just love that hatch and versatility. We kept our pop up to let our grand kids and family use it to camp with.
Congrats to AnnArborBob on your new EB. I feel your excitement. Hope to run into you all out camping someday.

I have not though about sewer dumping systems. Suggestions? Portia Pottie in pop up. No experience with sewer systems and dumping. Going to investigate this further before we pick up our EB. Don't want to arrive at dumping station with no clue. Maybe a box of gloves added to our list.

Definitely get a box of gloves.
The Newbies Guide to Airstreaming came with my trailer in one of the folios that has all the owner's manuals.

BassCan,
Know you are going to thoroughly enjoy your streaming. We bought ours in January three years ago after much exploring and finally confirming the floor plan we liked at the open house during Canopener 2012 Rally where wonderful friendships were started. We would like to invite you to explore the Canopener 2015 thread here in forum. The main loop for Canopener is pretty much booked, but there should be lots of other sites there that are available. It is January 9-11, 2015 at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa, Fl which is an absolutely gorgeous park.
We are just across the Bay from you and will look forward to our paths crossing.

There are several pre camp, arrival, and post camp lists, plus tool bag suggestions. We laminated ours in a small note book. Start building yours now, also ask on the forum for a " shoppers list", prior to the AS arrival. Since I live in the pollen capital, I inquired early how to wash and preserve the outside of the AS, several good product suggestions with the right brush as towel recommendations. We have only owned ours for a few months so my comments will be more basic than many experienced AS owners; however, i am where you still are now. Last, keep a daily AS journal, ours is already priceless.

Congrats!
The EB is certainly a unique AS and you will be deluged with inquiries from other TT owners...especially when the rear hatch is open.
Enjoy; I know we do!
