We are on vacation here in Kauai, Hawaii and will return to Texas in mid-May. We are attending the international Illinois and will take our time getting back to the Texas-Heat. Is anyone planning campout? JB

8-18 is not towing. It is a diesel with a 6 speed transmission. It doesn't change much with towing. My last trip I got 16 1/2 -17 towing my 32' AS. It is amazing how great it drives. Quiet, don't even know it's a diesel. Heated and air-conditioned seats. The sync navi is so easy to use. It is made for the road. Now if I could incorporate all those features in my AS Moho I would be all set. Haha.

Maybe we need a Gulf Coast FOD rally next year, earlier in the year, like your trip. A Progressive Rally! (unintended political pun)
We live in Indy but love to head for the MS, FL, & AL coasts. Fly fishing for speckled trout and redfish in-shore is part of the fun.

Would a straight female travelling solo be welcome at the FOD rallies?
I work with a lot of gay men.
Love them.
Relate to them.
We have a riot.

I don't think I'll be able to travel that far this year, but it would be something to look forward to someday.

TimbeRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Love your Lumberjack Decor. Would be perfect here in Canada. Don't forget the axe in the stump outside the door and the Paul Bunyan and Babe salt and pepper.
Help yourself to a jelly-bean martini! This is what I've been fiddling around with of late. Everyone wants a "candy bar/buffet" at their event these days. They are fun to do!
Your Lumberjack Decor needs some maple candy (made out of Lumberjack syrup, naturally!)

BTW, have you thought of putting together an aviation theme for Airstreams? Would be a natural fit.
I am currently in the market for some vintage-aviation throw cushions.

I've been toying with the idea of a "spirit of St. Louis" theme. That's where I was born and raised and the Boles Aero relationship to Lindberg's plane and Wally is too compelling to ignore for me.

Until this morning, I did not have a clue what "Friends of Dorothy" meant. I'd seen the phrase and not having looked into it, pondered it might mean people who weren't in Kansas anymore. I had posted on the rainbow stickers thread and when it was closed, I tracked it back to FoD subforum.
I've lived through the Civil Right era and the recognition of the meaning of the Bill of Rights and 14th Amendment and tried to put myself in the place of people who have been discriminated against. Now that further advances are being made, and opposition gives up their prejudices ever so slowly, it is a never ending task to insure equality for all. I'm glad to see this subforum and that it is welcome at the Air Forum.
And for what it is worth, my wife and I's marriage is still strong despite what happened in Massachussets and other states. I hope the NY Senate comes through today.

Thanks for your comments, both here and in the now-closed thread that got more attention than it really merited. I considered making a bit more noise about whether or not that was really contentious, but I felt I'd expressed my opinion and the mods were really just uncomfortable with any sort of controversy.
As to your comments about the strength of your own marriage... I have noted that many of the loudest opponents of my right to marry my partner appear to have some difficulty in maintaining their own marriages. Perhaps they just need to blame us for their own inability to keep it in their pants? I refer, of course, to those in the public sphere and not to any member of these forums (just for the record.) People with your convictions helped make this a better country in the '60s, and however much I'd like to see change right now, I believe this battle will be won by attrition. More good people like you calmly expressing their laudable positions on the issue will get us there.
