Did you have to remove the original skylights and measure for David to make the new Maxims, or are the measurements now standard so that you can just order for your model? When we did Maxims on our 2012 Flying Cloud, we had to measure first. We need to start the process to order the Maxims for our 2015. Also, did you replace the Fantastic Fans or do you plan to or not?

Shower Door. Anyone think about reversing shower door to swing other way? Seems like it would be a lot easier access?

The hitch weight is enough already so a more reward location is better. Also the main distribution panel is over the wheels so the runs are shorter.

Sorry for the random post above, I thought I was answering a question about putting the batteries and inverter under the sofa. However that question seems to have disappeared.

Yes, I believe you are correct. The appearance of the dark stain had me fooled. Now that I have corrected my misperceptions...LOL....maybe AS would consider offering this in a natural finish.....beautiful aging with cherry in natural....as seen here in my previous ride (2010 Allegro Bus 43 QGP):

I like the natural Cherry wood much better. I was under the impression that Airstream would offer 2 finishes.
The Allegro Bus is pretty high up on the food chain as far as diesel pushers go. If I ever get a motorhome that is what I want. I live in Mississippi fairly close to the Tiffin factory in Red Bay, AL. My boss has a 2012 Allegro Phaeton.

A couple of updates. For Silverbee (Tom). You are going to have to send the detail sheet back to Maxim when you order. Even though they are standard size. If you PM me your email address I will send you my detail....in essence, it's the exterior opening size to which I added 1/2 inch in length and width so they'd slide over the curbing....and they fit absolutely perfectly. I had bought a Max Fan (with remote) to replace my Fantastic Fan. It WILL NOT fit. There is insufficient room because there's less than 3" from the rear of the opening for the fan to the skylight behind it. The Max Fan needs about 6"....so it's going back. Too bad.

For Firedog 1: the antenna on the port (curbside) of the trailer is (indeed) a WiFi Ranger. I had one of these on my Intl and loved it. While it doesn't do anything for bandwidth, it will attenuate the aluminum blockade known as an "Airstream" -- very easy to hookup....mine came with both a 12V and 120V power source...I just wired the 12V.

For Andrew T. I didn't pose the question, but there is adequate room under the two dinette seats for Lifeline's (one dinette seat), and a Magnum MSH under the other. The distance between the two seats is less than 4 ft. I do not believe there's enough room under the front sofa, except for the center....the mechanisms for the two power recliners would most likely interfere with the battery....and as you note, I think 240 pounds of batteries (6V Lifelines), and a Magnum Converter (around 45 pounds, I think), would probably not be helpful for hitch weight.

First overnight in the new Classic. A trip to Charlotte to see my son, daughter-in-law and grandkids. Easy trip, trailer tows beautifully....and upon return, I parked it for the first time in SilverLeaf I's old parking spot. There is definitely an extra 2 feet on this trailer!

Rodster....good to hear from you! Laura, for only one night in it, no issues at all. One thing that I did notice. This is the first Airstream I've ever seen where you can completely and totally darken every window. The valences with the cellular shades (opaque first, then black out), conform perfectly to the windows. No light leaks due to the curve of the trailer. This includes the pano windows in the front and back. I was never able to achieve a totally dark trailer in my 2012 28' Intl CCD. Of course, I could have put aluminum foil on the windows! Barry

Yes, nice, but that should be the goal to produce EVERY model AS as close to perfect as they can get it!

Window treatment on new Classic

Yes, after having been given the royal tour by Barry in his new Classic, the window treatment is just wonderful. This is desirable not just for the "blackout" ability during daytime hours, but to solve the age old problem in all three of the units I have owned of the inability of the pull down shades to block the windows at night and prevent peeping Toms from looking through the crack between shade and curved trailer side.

Of course, this will be corrected by some creative valances which I will have made up in the next month or so. Also, the cellular shades which can go from translucent to totally blocking the light are quite attractive.

The Classic has many of the wonderful top end luxury features of a high end moho. And, some of these are extremely attractive.

I guess I can't believe Airstream would take perfectly beautiful Cherry wood and stain it. Here's my Redone Bambi II in Cherry. It is a naturally variegated wood and for my taste should be left that way.Click image for larger version
