Passport America vs. Great RV Escapes?
Any pros or cons on either. I've heard positive on Passport.

After some research we decided to go to with PA. We just joined earlier this year, and we are now at our first PA park. Nothing special, but not bad, either. Rate is reasonable.

We have been members of Passport America for ten years now. It's not perfect, but we always get enough discounted nights to cover the membership fee by at least three of four times.

I just asked the CFO (my wife) and she said that we saved $132 on this campground. Looks like we've already gotten our money's worth.

Do not know anything about Great RV Escapes. Someone, please post a bit of background.
PA is the best program we have joined. A 50% discount for Sunday through Thursday is a nice economy for the travel budget. The parks vary from long in the tooth to brand new pristine. An open perspective on value is helpful. Sometimes the value is the location of the park. Sometimes the value is a new well designed park that needs more occupancy to achieve the cash flow for investor return on investment. What was surprising to us was the value of the positive social environment in an old line destination park. Quite cool to see weddings, campfires and folks just having a great time. The excitement is little infectious.
Our perception is that the standard rates for PA parks are a bit high, so the 50% savings is not as real as it sounds. However, unless your plan is to stay exclusively at Walmart, it is a program worth having in the binder.
Travel safe. Pat

Passport America has saved us a significant amount of money in the off season in Florida. One really nice park's price that we frequent is sliced in half for about half the time we book. We also use it for quick and inexpensive overnights. We plan to renew PA every year for a while. Haven't used the other.

Have to ditto all of the remarks regarding PA. We purchased earlier in the yr and have easily paid for the membership 4-5 times over. We like it for the overnight parks when traveling as we rarely use any amenities at those locations yet hate to pay full price for an overnight. Also was able to save 50% on a 7 night stay at a resort in AZ in Jan, which surprised me as most have a max stay in Jan and Feb. Will renew again in future.

They have an app, which is great, and has a map feature which allows you to see all participating campgrounds in an area.

Thanks Maggie I got the app and plan on using it.
Almost sounds to good to be true for price.
I have two campgrounds I go to and both are on the program.

We have had PA perhaps 7 years now, and it is the go-to for overnight stays.
Other than federal sites with the Golden Age Passport, it is the least expensive way to spend a night with some amenities.
As others have said, some campgrounds that take PA are little hole in the wall places where you would not care to spend a week, and others the pricier, Resort type campgrounds.....but if you have water, electricity, a dump station, showers, sometimes cable and wifi....
$10-$12 a night, up to maybe $20-$25.....a pretty good deal, and real money saver when you are just passing thru. Spend less, do more.
Keep your expectations on the modest end, and you won't be unpleasantly surprised.
