Well, I would be looking 80's, narrow body. Lighter for a given length. Not particularly expensive per foot compared to a classic collectible or a shiny new one. You will have unexpected expenses.
For example:
Fair chance you will need a couple of axles -- maybe a couple of grand, installed.
Water heater, reefer, furnace... One or more will need work or replacement.
A/C is a very nice thing. You are living inside an aluminum tube -- doesn't take much direct sun to make it an Easy Bake Oven.
Firearms are a non-issue. Obey whatever State laws for the locale you happen to be in and no one will much care.
