Red face Airstreamers in Asheville, NC

I'm not sure if this is the place to post this, but I would like to find other Airstream owners in the Asheville, NC area. My husband and I have moved to Asheville, but don't know many people in town, and would love to meet some. We just returned from a three month trip out West in our Safari. We will be around for a few months. Thanks!

Debbie, you just missed our Alumalina rally at Tom Johnson Camping Center in Marion about a week ago. We will gather again in March in Charlotte. In the mean time reach out to Chillpoints, he is from Asheville, and is a member here on the forums.

Hi Debbie,

We're just down the road and frequent the Asheville area. We'll be camping in the Black Mountain area this weekend. PM us if you'd care for some fireside socialization on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evening.

The Carolina's Chapter of the WBCCI is having its last rally of 2011 at Ocean Lakes Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC November 1-4. If you are interested in joining us, please PM me for details. The unit draws its membership primarily from NC. There is a western NC unit as well.

We love Asheville! There is a strong southeast contingent in general, and specifically a really fun gathering this weekend in Hiawassee, GA (Falluminum) at the GA Mountain Campgrounds if you can make it! I think there may be a site or two left - not sure; 30 units meeting to have fun.

Which campground around Asheville can you recommend? Looking for max 30min from downtown. Quiet setting and good wifi.

I hate that I missed Old Tom Johnson I used to go there just to look. There is a KOA campground really close to my house between Sawnnanoa and Black Mt. And there are some smaller campgrounds in East Asheville. I am minutes frome all of this. But I am going to NYC for a week or two the best carnival on earth!

NC,

'Winter before last I spent 171 days Way Down South, visiting 38 US cities with my rig.

Mama Gertie's Hideway near Ashville was the BEST, the FINEST, the CLEANEST campground encountered.

Check the Trip Advisor reviews here. You will rarely see reviews for an RV park as good as these :

Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground (Swannanoa, NC) - Campground Reviews - TripAdvisor

Tell Tom and Roxanne that the Canadian with the MINI sent yah.

Asheville area airstreamers

We just got a 1979 Land Yatch and live SE of Asheville!

We are finishing up with some restoration and hope to camp in Charlotte in March. Then in April we are attending a Tin Can Tourists Rally in Rutherforton at 4 Paws Kingdom. Then in May we hope to be camping Mothers Day Weekend in cades Cove in the GSM, then the weekend after at Misty River in Townsend TN for a Vintage Camper Rally!

I drove from Asheville to northern CA 2 years ago, stayed at a great campground off I-40 near the Maggie Valley area but...don't remember the name...I'm also driving BACK to Asheville NC in the spring of this year and will be living there again, would be great to meet some 'peeps'...

The only campground I could recommend would be Lake Rutledge RV campground in Arden/Fletcher area. Close to everything and full hookups, year round and nice! Let us know when you are in town! That is 20 minutes away from our home!
