how does the door secure

74 trade wind- The locking refrigerator storage door has a extruded channel at the on one side, and lock on the other. I want to know is the extruded fin in the door meant to fit into the channel of the extruded weather channel on the top of the compartment on the body? Mine is bent , but then it just didn't seem practical , maybe I am missing a part? Anybody have a photo?

I assume you are talking about the exterior refrigerator access door? Lock on the bottom? I am not 100% sure on a 74, but yes the fin fits into the channel. Some, including myself, have replaced that semi hinge set up with piano hinge. Others have added some kind of tether so you don't loose the door going down the road.

Thanks, the piano hinge sounds like a much better idea, no way I have the patience to keep trying to fit the flange into the tiny slot.
