Successful Airstream Pickup!!

We Left For Utah, A Week Ago Last Saturday - Believe It Or Not, We Didn't Even Get Out Of So Cal Without Hitting Snow - Cajon Pass!!
After Vegas It Was Snow, All The Way - Beautiful But Not Something We Palm Springs People Are Used To. It Took Us 2 Days To Get There In The Evening- Exhausted & Decided To Hotel It At Hampton Inn In Provo - Right Next To Ihop & Red Lobster - Not Too Tough, But Cold!!! We Were Putting Off Going To See The Airstream We Had Purchased Online (can't Believe We Did That)...lots Of Buyers Remorse & Fear Until The Next Sunny Morning We Saw Her - It Was Love At First Sight - We Wouldn't Change A Thing About Her - She Is A 1997 Safari 25' Only Used About 2 Times - Original Owner, Not Wives Lifestyle & An Original Owners Manual With Evertying Possible In It. We Were Hooked Immediately. It Had Sat In The Sun & Snow For 7 Years - So We Immediately Started Parting With Our Money - Had The Electric Brakes Put On, Got New Propane Tanks (the Old Ones Had Been Stolen), New Tires, Weight Equalizer Hitch & A Trip To Walmart & We Were Off To Come Home. We Stayed In A Campground Out Of Provo - Lakeside Rv - Very Pleasant - Cold! 39 At Noon & Immediately Met Some Nice People & Some Who Had Things They Were Willing To Share & Give. It Was Wonderful. As We Started Home, We Realized That As Soon As We Got Out Of The Cold, We Would Like To Spend A Few Days Just Playing With Our New Toys - Other Than The Headliner The Insides Were Perfect & Everything Worked. So Off To Death Valley Proudly Towing Our Airstream. We Spent 2 Days In An Absolutely Barren Campground But It Didn't Matter - We Loved It......peacefulness, Walks, Evenings Under Our Awning Looking At The Full Moon With A Bottle Of 2 Buck Chuck.....it Was Everything We Hoped For. Finally We Realized That Real Life Was Calling So We Headed For Home - The Trailer Tows Beautifully Behind Our 1996 Suburban 1500- Except For Anyone Going To Death Valley, Don't Go In From Beatty - That Grade In Is An Absolute Brake Killer - And According To Our New Friends At The Campground - Many Have Killed Their Brakes On The Long Way Down - As They Smiled And Looked At Us - They Said You Only Do It Once.

Finally We Got To Palm Springs - Proud That It Had Been Since An Easy Tow Home - Started Backing Her Into The Driveway - She Needs Clearcoat Removal (most Is Alreadygone), Buffing & Polishing, And Forgot About The Eave On The Side Of The House - Yep - Right There And Then We Put In A New Owner Stupid Good Sized Dent In The Curve As It Starts Up To The Top....so Now We Are Going Outside To See If We Can Find A Way To Pound It Out - We
Look Forward To Meeting Some Of You - By The Way - All The Way From Utah To Death Valley & To Palm Springs - We Saw Only 4 Airstreams. Would Enjoy Any Input.

Congrats on your new purchase. If the dent doesn't have a crease in it and isn't on a seam, it is relatively easy to "pop". We have had success using a $5 dent puller from an auto store.

The key to dents is LESS is MORE. Take it easy and gently. If you've stretched the metal or put a hard crease in it, that will be there to stay.

My California geography is weak, but Inland RV has a very good reputation for repairs. Just look for one of the many threads "Inland Andy" has posted to.
