I wanted to let vintage trailer owners in the northeast know about an interesting event taking place in Carlisle, PA on September 5-7. Carlisle Events is hosting their annual
Carlisle Sports & Outdoor Show at the Carlisle Fairgrounds which is a great event for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities which pretty much includes all of us. My wife and I went last year with our kids (11 & 9) and really enjoyed it, and are looking forward to going back again this year.
The reason for my post here on the forums is that this year they are experimenting with the cool idea of having a
Vintage & Custom Camper display, which is open to anyone with a unique or vintage trailer and $25. The $25 admission fee covers 2 weekend passes to the event
(kids 12 and under are free), camping at the event for the weekend, and having your trailer on display for all to see, making it pretty much a free weekend experience. Judging for the favorite campers will take place with awards handed out. There are no hookups available but you can have a generator, there are bathroom and shower facilities on-site, pets are allowed, and an on-site dump station is available when you leave. We have a 75' Tradewind that is in good condition, but is far from "show quality" and we're planning on going for the neat experience and help support the cool idea being promoted (i.e. a car show for campers).

Also worth mentioning for anyone traveling from further away and wanting to make it an extended stay, just three days after the Carlisle event, America's largest RV show is held in Hershey PA, which is only 45 mins away and now includes Airtream as a vendor on display.
Other area attractions within 2 hours of the event:
Hershey's Chocolate Factory
Gettysburg Battlefield
Knoebels (America's Largest Free Amusement Park)
Baltimore's Inner Harbor
Lancaster County (at the heart of Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch country living)
Hollywood Casino and Penn National Race Course (horse racing)
Anyone who decides to go will probably see us there
