Airstream Song
Airstream,
Big chrome Airstream,
I leave the world behind me,
They won't find me,
In my Airstream.
Free, I don't want to be,
Stuck in the city,
With the cars and people downtown,
Waiting in a line,
Wishing I was far away,
Where no one knows my name.
Ocean,
Big blue ocean,
Rolling like a day dream,
Down the highway,
In my Airstream.
Free, I don't want to be,
Stuck in the city,
With the cars and people downtown,
Waiting in a line,
Wishing I was far away,
Where no one knows my name or my address,
It's a place I've never been,
When it gets too familiar I'll be gone.
Free, I don't want to be,
Stuck in the city,
With the cars and people downtown,
Waiting in a line,
Wishing I was far away,
Where no one knows my name or my address,
It's a place I've never been,
When it gets too familiar I'll be gone.
When it gets too familiar I'll be gone.
When it gets too familiar I'll be gone.

Yea that's a bummer. I thought the same when I heard this for the first time. Well that's an artist's license!

Just a note for those of you clicking on OMBD's link. Because its a video it will take a minute or so to load down to your PC before it starts playing so don't give up too soon on it. Now if you are dial up....good luck. The link in my first post is for the audio only which runs much faster.

Wow. That was super, and I've already mailed the link to the other persons I work with that don't know that only two American icons still exist - one of them is Harley... and the other is Airstream!

Best up-to-date promotional ad for the Airstream I've seen. Think how it would effect sales or awareness if it played during the Superbowl half time? Would WBCCI attract our early 21st. Century's generation as new members?

Have a Happy Airstream Christmas
It's that time, so I would like to point out a few talented artisits who have captured the season in the context of their Airstream affection. First, Timothy Monger is a very talented local artist here in Michigan who has written a song about the way he remembers Christmases from his youth.
AIRSTREAM
Timothy Monger
There’s an Airstream selling Christmas trees
And the lights are bleeding in the frozen streets
And I can’t think of anything I’d rather do
Than tie one up and bring it to you.
All the shop bells ring and the skating rink’s
Full of noise and faces as it wheels and spins
And I wish that you could have been here too
So I send this out, Merry Chistmas to you!
There’s an Airstream selling Christmas trees
By the light of the moon on Catalpa Street
Like a Rockwell scene and a postcard view
I am awestuck wanting to share it with you.
So I send this out, Merry Chistmas to you!
You can download his song at:

And Tim's official site is here:

To go hand in hand with that sentiment are the Designs from Paige Bridges from Texas. Christmas Airstream and Christmas Tree Lot are just two of her charming paintings of vintage trailers.
You'll find them here:

Airstream slideshows
I think it would be fantastic to have everyone make up slideshows of their AS pictures. Any takers? It would be nice to have a central upload space but I supose many of us have our own web space.
Think of your show as a mini documentary. Show us! Blows the socks of profile information.

Airstream Video to Ipod
As I said before the Airstream video and music really made a hit with me and I would like to convert it to play on my Ipod. But I am not having success. If I buy QuickTime Pro 7 will that do the trick?

I still have goosebumps from watching the video. Although they could have replaced the "Big Chrome Airstream" with "Aluminum Airstream", I still like the song a lot. I agree that if Airstream invested some money in that video and made it a commercial, the benefits they'd reap would be unimaginable.

I do too! It even seems to have a bigger impact sitting here at home...well we can dream.
I don't know if Quick Time will do it. If anyone has the pro version will you give it a try and let us know about conversion to IPod mp4? Thanks.
It seemed to me Itunes and Quicktime made it more difficult then it would have been without their default settings that left me scrambling to disable. Any who, if you download the .mpeg and then download Cucusoft IPOD video converter for a free demo, you have only to open the file and click the convert button. It's that easy.

I am delirius with happiness!!! Now when I get tired of watching and listening with the trail version watermark it will cost me $39.99 to remove it. Meanwhile, hey aren't these things made of chrome? Maybe you can sing faster than me but I can't say aluminum fast enough in that line. Try it.

The video link and the audio links will work with standard QuickTime 7. I have 7.03, non-pro and it is happy.
Not sure if yer using a Mac or a PC, but I would assume QuickTime would work well with either, provided Bill Gates hasn't messed around and set by default Winblows Media Player by default.
If yer using a Mac it should be fairly transparent. You can use the right mouse button to download the link to your computer (if you opted to buy a 2 button mouse, cause Steve Jobs is a mono mouse button Nazi) or you can hold the ctrl key on your Mac as you click the link and a pop up window will appear and you need to select the "download link" option. From there you can xfer as you wish to your iPod. The mp3 can be added fairly easily with iTunes and if you have the latest version of iTunes, it can also import the video too, though I have yet to get a video iPod to try. Again, mostly done with a Mac, your results and mileage may vary with a PC.

Oh gee my mileage sure is varying. I can play both with Quick Time, or WMP, no problem. I can import the .mp3 to ITunes and the Ipod no problem, but the movie will not import to the Ipod only to ITunes library. I get a message it will not import to the video IPod. Only Mp4 will work as a movie, I think and for that Quick Time wants you to have the Pro version to convert your movies to IPod codec. ??? I have tried both on the IMac and the PC. I even tried saving as a .mov and still no go. I'd buy the pro for $29.00 I suppose if I knew for certain it would do the trick. I had QT6 Pro but 7 kicks out your previous license and you need to have 7 basic at least so... maybe I'd rather give my money to a third party. It also will not import album art as Music Match and WMP do unless it is ITune purchased music. There's a workaround but gee whiz what a pain.
