Ohio Turnpike

Spotted a newer Safari (~21 ft) Eastbound on the Ohio Turnpike yesterday morning near Lordstown (215 mile marker). TV was a blue pickup.

Saw two newer Airstreams in Michigan last weekend. The first was at the corner of Highways 66 and 57 on Saturday afternoon. Looked like a 25 footer, pulled by a red pickup. The second was eastbound on I-69 between Flint and Port Huron on Sunday evening. It was a Bambi with Ontario plates.

In Montrose, CO I just glimpsed a peak of a Vintage 16-19 ft headed North on 550.

Are you traveling with Dane's in CO? Saw your post and first thing I thought was I need a Dane fix! I'm currently in Montrose, CO. Hannah's been gone a year at the end of this month and I tell ya getting Dane lovin' is hard to come by.

We are in CO. We are 3.5 hours west of you in Canon City. Unfortunately, we are not headed in your direction or I would stop in and let you get your Dane fix. Drake is particularly good at loving people and I'd would love to meet you.

I forgot that between Raton, NM and Pueblo, CO we saw three A/S last Sat.

Oh too bad it won't work on this trip, but another time hopefully. Every morning I take a walk with my Shiba Inu to pet the neighbors horse. I figure a horse is the closest thing to a Dane fix
Happy travels!

Just pet the horse's muzzle and it's almost as good as scratching a Dane under the chin....

Airstream sightings

While traveling to Springfield, IL, I spotted a late model Airstream of about 23-feet being pullued by a mid-to-late 1980s Lincoln Town Car that was either midnight blue or black. The rig was headed South toward St. Louis, and I just caught a glimpse as I was merging onto Northbound I-55 from Illinois Route 4 heading in the opposite direction toward Springfield, IL.

Kevin

P.S.: Always catches my attention when I see a travel trailer being towed by a large, American car . . . seems so much more natural than pickup trucks . . . . I am afraid that I grew up on a farm and I have no desire to be in a pickup when I am on a vacation to get away from the daily grind . . .so the full-size automobile/travel trailer says elegant getaway to me. . . .

Yesterday (Thursday 4 Aug) we were sitting in the truck at Sonic off US 75 in Oklahoma having a burger and a cherry limeade, and I saw LCurrie pulling in with their Bambi. We had an impromptu mini-caravan the rest of the way to Eureka Springs.

$ 3.63 for gasoline. That just knocks me out. I think we are paying around $ 6.50.
