looking for advice on repairing banana wrap

Hey the previous owner(s) of my '89 "Squarestream" really bashed up the banana wrap. There are dents and gashes throughout.
How should I go about repairing?
Hoping that I don't have to remove them to repair.
Not looking for perfection, just better than it is now.
Can I bend back together and use aluminum weld sticks?
Any advice appreciated.

Looking at what you've got there and considering your "not looking for perfection" comment, you might consider just buying some sheet aluminum and laying it over the top. Ideally the sheet would slide into the existing trim, but if not, you could rivet it to the damaged sheet behind it.

KidJedi I was thinking the same. I saw some patches on another thread I thought were really clever. Cool thanks for the idea and encouragement.
