Belly Pan Installation On 72 31' Sovereign
Not sure if this has been brought up before but I was wondering if anyone has ever cut a piece of aluminum and placed it between the frame and axle brackets to rivet the pan to too make it easier to remove the belly pan in the future. I am getting ready to install by belly pan and was trying to make it easier for a one person install. Looking at cutting a piece about 3" wide and 48" long to cover the area between the frame and axle brackets. Any help would be appreciated.
I replaced my entire belly-pan. As I recall, the main frame rails are ~54" apart, so I bought sheets that were 12' long and 4' wide and then made 54" x 48" sections to cover the space between the frame rails. The seams will fall on the cross-members, so there would be rivets there anyway, they are just holding two overlapping sheets instead of one long sheet.

Belly Pan
Belegedhel;
Try this again. Did you put a full piece under your axle brackets from frame to frame. I was wondering if you could slide a 3" piece between the frame and bracket on each side then rivet the shorter sheet to the 3" piece.
I used a full sheet, but I did all this work the easy way, with the frame upside down. I don't see any harm in doing it the way you are proposing, though.
