Remove trim paint and repaint banana wrap

Hi all. I've attached a pic of my 85 AS, as you can see the blue trim paint down the side looks pretty bad. What is the best way to get this stuff off? Will either repaint, or may just leave silver with blue trim around if the underlying aluminum looks good.

Also...any secrets for repainting the black band of banana wrap below the bottom trim? Was thinking wash, clean, black rustoleum, but don't want to anger the Airstream gods.

I removed the stripe on my '86 with a wet rag & an iron. It peeled off pretty easily that way. I also painted the banana wrap with Charcoal colored automotive paint from Advanced Auto Parts. It has a tiny sparkle to it. Then I clear coated over it. Do it before all the bugs come out--the seem to always fly into it when it's wet!
