NEWBIE! Exterior cleaning and maintenance help

We have a 2007 safari with clear coat. I have searched for days on what to wash with and maintain the exterior of our airstream and their are so many opinions and not many recent that I thought I would see if someone could tell me. We decided on the McGuires for washing. Is this a good product? Ive also read a lot about walbernize. Is this something I need to use and how often? Does this help prevent the filiform corrosion because I think Ive spotted a couple of places? There is also a product called boeshield T9. Does it do the same thing as walbernize? Which specific boeshield product should be used? Sorry for all the questions at once. Who woulda thought so many questions would pop up for washing the airstream! Any information or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am a huge fan of anything from Griot's Garage. I use their Wash and Wax product on the AS, car and truck. Very satisfied over the last 6 years. I also use the CRSpotless de-ionized water system for wash and rinsing. Haven't hand dried anything since getting it. Not even my shiny black truck. No water spots.

The product is actually called Boeshield T9. Seems to be the product of choice for combating filiform.

There's probably not a wrong answer on this subject. I suspect some products will work better than others but I can tell you what Airstream sells in their service department in Jackson Center... Glare

Check out Glare at their online store

The wash works very well and even our 1992 Classic looks better when we wash it with this product compared to other washes we've used.

Airstream also recommends several of the related Glare products. Call the factory service center in Jackson Center for more details. Airstream may also have some information on their web site.

Glare is not available in retail stores and I don't think you can find it online except at the official web site.

I use it for our automobile too and the also use the polish on our automobile. It works great!

We store at a storage place away from home, and there is not water available there. We purchased griots spray on waterless car wash, and their green microfiber cloths. This worked very well and was easy to use. We then followed up with Walbanizer. Also easy to use. Since we are not on dirt roads or coastal areas, we only do this once a year. Other than that, the rain seems to do an adequate job.

I've used Meguiars wash and wax on our 2001 Safari since it was new. This weekend while camping, the owner of a 2016 AS complimented the appearance of ours saying it looked "like new". He was shocked to learn it's 15 years old.

I like Aerospace 303 (30313-CSR) UV Protectant Easy on and off from Amazon, recommended by our Airstream Dealer. Another option is any of the spray on waxes by Mothers wax. These are all good for clear coat.

Use the same quality product that you would use on your car. I use all Jax Wax products do to it's ease of use. I aim to wax 3 times per year.
As far as filiform corrosion, that's generally caused by a contaminant during the manufacturing process of the aluminum that's used. Keeping it waxed isn't going to solve that.
