Re: Post # 1554:

Jim, nervous flatulence is not a bad thing. Your testimony will be much shorter if you gross out the attorneys who are questioning you. In fact, I suggest a big bowl of the hottest green chili you can get the night before followed by a breakfast of huevos rancheros for insurance. Do not go to the bathroom that morning.

As to the progression of this thread, it quickly descended from a serious request by the always grown up Zep not to highjack threads to a thread of sophomoric "humor" by a bunch of immature Forum members. I believe I was one of those immature posters. Apparently, judging by the first paragraph above, I have not matured at all and may be even worse than I was all those years ago. And yes, I'm too lazy to start a flatulence thread.

Thanks for the counsel, Gene. I'll take it under advisement. I'm supposed to appear as the old fart, so to speak, who knows everything about this particular piece of old gear. I'm just concerned for the judge a little since I'll be sitting next to him/her in the witness box. And, after all, if this goes to the Supreme Court, my um, "statements" may be on the record. I don't want the Justices to be distracted while mulling their decisions. Little do the attorneys know that I'm more like the sophomoric guy in paragraph two than any kind of expert.

Jim, an "expert" is supposed to be strange, kind of like the absent minded professor. The judge can always expedite testimony if asphyxiation is imminent. To further shorten your testimony, tell them you have a fever and have been vomiting. This could also work to get people off a jury.

Hijacking

They make like underwear filters that make your flatulence take on pleasant floral or mint fragrances - but who knows what kinda backwards Monsanto plot that is - they are devious

Better to keep things natural!

Here's a real mature reply - with apologies to the Beatles (and all of you - couldn't help myself).

Sung to the tune of Yesterday.

Flatulence
Some folks treat it like it's pestilence
But those folks are lacking common sense
We've all succumbed to flatulence

Suddenly
There's a power that's escaping me
Bringing tears so strong I just can't see
How I let go
So suddenly

Why I had to blow I don't know
It makes no sense.
I've done something wrong
Making strong and nasty scents

Flatulence
No, Your Honor that's not evidence
Stop those lawyers running for the fence
It's just a case of flatulence

Mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm mmmmmmmmmmm.

Hey Gene, speaking of beautiful green leafy things, what is that Avatar picture of yours? The Jolly Green Giant Girl standing over an orange grove?

No, and it is not the Attack of the 50 Foot Woman - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You can buy the poster at the Idaho Potato Museum: http://www.google.com/url?q=http://i...RML0MJSKG_UahA . If you click on the link, and then on posters you can have one of your very own. It is Marilyn Monroe dressed in a potato sack standing in a potato field. It is obviously photoshopped and not all that well, but it has a home overlooking us in our Airstream bedroom. The closest I ever have been to being a voyeur.

I've used that for years now and really ought to find something else, maybe next year.

Sorry, you only have one year to change your avatar and decide on a permanent one. You are six years too late. Who gave you the idea that you had such flagrant freedom? We don't allow no plastic surgery here.

You may be odd looking, but you are our odd looking.

Zep

besides, some of us with bad memories will get confused.

Some of you may think Zep couldn't look like his avatar. The hand (or paw) seems too large for the head. The head looks squashed and canine like. But I've met Zep and he really looks like that. He does like wine. I didn't have the courage to ask him to his face (or snout) whether he was a freak of nature or a victim of an out of control plastic surgeon.

I don't look like my avatar except to look like the potato sack. If you are a potato sack, surrounding Marilyn would not be a bad thing if she were alive and still young.

Further proof you never know if you are conversing with a dog (or a potato sack) on the internet.
