The American RV park is our favorite. Nice and well maintained. Close to freeway, but not noisy. However, it is a long way from the BF Event Field of Play.
The year we went, the AS Caravan stayed on the other side of the Interstate and the AS BF Group met at the Camping World next door, to convoy over to the event.
What you would need to do to see the event is to get a shuttle ride over or drive over to park in the lots. If you intend to park there, do it very early ..... 3-4am. Otherwise, you will have significant traffic to overcome in your quest for a view.
Shuttle ride tickets are sold at various locations across town. The parking at the event has a fee. The event grounds require a ticket. The Museum has a fee too.
The grass in front of the Museum is an excellent viewing location or at least it was. Enjoy the event. Pat

Using the shuttle service is the most carefree method for getting to and from Balloon Fiesta Park.
Ironically, it gives you more freedom than trying to get there in your POV. Once you board the shuttle, you will be whisked across town to the Balloon Fiesta and dropped off right at the gates to the field. The shuttles enjoy special routes and priority access to avoid the horrible traffic. Shuttle riders can sleep in each morning and get back to their place of lodging well ahead of the general parking attendees.

Just finished bringing my share of 150 Airstreams from Camping World, through a jungle of Albuquerque's worst drivers to Balloon Fiesta Park. And now we are having a cloud burst in honor of our guests!
Mexican food for all attendees this evening.

We occupy VIP West RV Parking. Due west and adjacent to the Balloon Museum. Adjacent to, and south of the launch field.
