I don't usually respond when so many have already stated what I would say BUT I need to make an additional comment about the McKesh Mirrors. I got them with my AS in February of this year - the dealer ordered them for me. I didn't think about it and neither did the dealer but you should think about the color of the straps that hold them on your doors. I've seen them in black and in white. Mine came with white straps and with my black TV I would much rather have had the black straps. The white really stand out on my black vehicle.
Otherwise, the McKesh are great! Easy on and easy off. Great visibility and, best of all, NO vibration. I would get nothing else. Enjoy whatever you decide upon.

Going with McKesh
Thanks to all for your responses. I'm going with the McKesh because they are affordable (especially as I'm getting a used set from someone who no longer needs them) and they give me the view I need and will satisfy the law virtually everywhere - Did you know that many states are specific about the range your towing mirrors must enable you to see? Also I can take them off when the trailer is parked for a while and not have to get out of the truck at the ATM. Thanks again - this is a great place to get the benefit of OP's experience and I appreciate it.

I must second those who have suggested the CIPA slide on mirrors.
I use them with small fish eyes added and have good visibility on both sides.
I also notice that they are stronger than one might expect. Recently while 4 Wheeling (Without Airstream attached of course) the mirror met a tree, quite hard. No damage at all.

The way my Argosy is shaping up I've got plenty of time to think about it (i.e. somebody call a plumber! ). Thanks for all the opinions.

I'm with you, they be duck ugly all right.
I'm perfectly happy with what I got, just pull'em out, adjust and hit the road.

I have used the TTT Mirrors http://www.ttt-mirror.com/ on both my 2002 Chevy 3500 and on my 2006 Chevy 3500. They are wider than the factory and allow me to see a long way behind me.

The TTT Mirrors are really the old Schefenacker Mirrors that changed their name on December 11, 2007 and trades now under the new name of Visiocorp. Their website is at visiocorp - Index At the Visiocorp website, a link will take you to the Telescopic Trailer Tow Mirror by Visiocorp site for their Telescopic Trailer Tow mirrors.
