I can't speak for a Ram 4.7, we have a 4.7 Toyota Tundra and pull a 25'. We traded for a new trailer last year, an extra
1500 lbs and can barely notice the difference if at all. Even though it is an extra
1500 lbs, that is not as significant when you consider the weight of the whole package, truck and trailer, plus gear and passengers which did not change.
It doesn't blast up steep grades either, but so what, it gets there just fine. A greater concern is descending steep grades and keeping speed down where it is safe. That is where trailer sway, unexpected side wind, or a sudden maneuver can be disastrous.
