We replaced our old yellowed lenses & bulbs with new ones and it seemed to help quite a bit. InlandRV has lenses for a lot of the vintage models, although I'm not sure about the Argosys...might give them a try.

That is the same light that Airstream used in the late 70's trailers in the bathroom. In the Airstream there were two. Being that you have the 12 Volt source there you can change it out to what ever you like. Someone had some fluorescents for sale on the forum in the last week.........

I have been working on fluorescent lights for my coach this past week. The last one should arrive UPS tomorrow.

It finally occurred to me that the problem with those incadescent lights is that they are automotive lamps - designed for about 13.5 volts. At the 12 volts (or less) supplied by our batteries/univolt/converter they are yellow and grossly inefficient.

Maybe a single tube, 15 watt fluorescent?

Mark

Smile Dim is good!

I usually look better in low light - try thinking of your dim bulb as an special automatic Airstream Candle.

Don't you know you are supposed to use the exterior skin as a well lighted mirror

Oh yeah, it is an Argosy. Well then plan B. Need a new bright light. I think Mark is on the right track about the voltage issues. Also have you pulled the lens and made sure all the bulbs are working? There should be three.

Unhappy

I just replaced my yellowed lens on the exact same fixture. About $25 from Inland RV. It did help some but we're all limited by the voltage.
