We just returned from the Vintage Rally in Colorado Springs, and during the Open House (FUN FUN FUN) I took lots of pictures.
Our trailer is a 28 foot Landyacht Ambassador International, and they didn't spare ANYTHING when she was built.. except a built-in stereo!
Actually, she's sort of like a laptop.. ten pounds of doo doo in a five pound bag.. and I don't mean that in a bad way!
I saw that a few trailers have stereos above the gaucho in the front.. anyone know where I can get one? In particular, an 8-track? Or, to be less picky, any model at all?

Why not install an automotive-style AM FM CD player in that spot, like the new units have? It would probably take up less room, and be much more reliable. Not to mention useful, as they haven't made 8 tracks since they stopped making Argosies. (coincidence?)
Cassette players are still produced, if you don't want to go with a CD player.
Most of these have electronic tuning (better reception) and solid state components (less power draw on your battery) than the old 8 tracks.
If you are looking for originality, you can probably check with an RV salvage place like Colaw, or Bob's here in FLA.

is anybody posting pix yet of this alleged rally?????????!
We really didn't have an alleged rally; alleged UFOs picked us up and took us for study to the top of Pike's Peak. And don't think it wasn't allegedly SCARY!
After that we allegedly had to permanently attach ourselves to the alleged margarita machine.

I own an antique shop, and actually sell (and play) 8 tracks. :-) My 26 year old son think they're a "new, cool invention."
I have a portable CD player semi=permanently installed on the TV arm. I just may replace that dinky TV, too!
I would like to hear more about this 'alleged abduction to Pike's Peak'.... Did you know 'allegedly, Pike never climbed Pike's Peak...???' Allegedly, it was a group of Indians...I think....
Did you know that some people here 'allegedly have airstreams?????

yum, airstreams ... i'm a LITTLE less skeptical that this alleged rally occurred ... but not at ALL skeptical that there was a margarita machine out there in the hills ... i'm picturing a version of the dr. seuss tale where the birds without stars wanted them & vice versa .... people marching into an airstream without margaritas but coming out WITH THEM!!!!!!!!
Did I forget to mention that the UFO, which was long and silver and had rounded edges and lots of windows, had a mother base nearby with seventy-something other UFOs?
We got taken there, too. It was PURE torture, being forced to sit out in the Colorado sunshine, attached to that margarita machine...

These are great pictures! Makes us want to get on the road!! Will and Nancy
You could opt for any arrangement you want, but this looked appealing on your photo from above if you like the modern..
If it were me I wouldn't put an 8 track in place even if you could get one. I know some people like vintage to the bone, and other like vintage looks with modern upgrdes. For instance if I were to consider placing an old antique radio in my AS then I would look for one of those replica radios from an era long past, hence new radio with old looks.
Just kinda played with your photo (Sat Morning wiht nothing to do)
