New Tile Backsplash
We didn't like the wallpaper boarder in the Classic. We opted for this solution.
I'm happy with it.

Is that five big sections of tile made to look a plethora of small random tiles?

That looks great. Is it the peel and stick type of glass mosaic? Did you use grout?

hi dan b i agree the wall covering is not good. we replaced ours with a wallpaper border that i saved from our old house. it fit perfectly. yours looks like glass, is it?
we also replaced the faucet with a single lever one. it looks cool
little things do make a difference.

These are called "smart tiles" available at Lowe's. They come in 12x12 sheets that interlock. The "tiles" have a true 3-dimensional shape that gives realistic shadows and reflections.
They are "peel and stick" and can be cut with scissors. The backing material serves as the grout. The interlock pattern is fairly good.
The sticky felt OK. I'm more concerned about how they do over the winter.
Best part is they are very light.

They look very nice! I always hated the wallpaper border in our Safari.

Looks good.
I hate that wallpaper, too. Mine is already peeling because I got it wet brushing my teeth.
I have thought about aluminum skin like the kitchen throughout the trailer.
I don't like than sob looking tan-ish wallpaper on plywood on the bedroom and bathroom partition walls. This should have been some more hickory wood. Stained and polyurethaned plywood would look better to me.
I don't like the mouse fur walls or padded vinyl ceilings, either. Those surfaces should have been silver aluminum instead.

We used a peel and stick product from Lowes too, but ours are silvery brushed aluminum looking. My husband used a power saw to cut them. We also replaced the mirrors in the overhead lockers in our 2004 Classic. I think it modernized it a bit. Now trying to decide whether to put them behind the stove and sink too.

Those look great in both spots. I pinned some just like that on pinterest as a potential use in our trailer. Are you just relying on the peel stick to hold it or did you supplement with any adhesive?

Just the peel and stick. It seemed up to the task completely. One thing I read was you only needed extra adhesive if you had to cut it in a way that left really small pieces along a side. Then you might need to add some in that spot. My husband used a power mitre saw to cut them to exactly fit.

Did you remove the old wallpaper, or place the tile right over it? It looks great, and I am going to try it also.

I pulled off the wallpaper border, which was easy and left the wallpaper underneath intact. I stuck the tiles on top of the wallpaper. Be aware that where we had to cut the little metal mosaics pieces, the edges were a bit rough. I hid those up high under the mirror. I was able to go side to side with no cutting. I googled the product to get some tips on cutting and installation. Where one mat of tiles buts up against another, you need to try to get them really close together or the seam will be obvious. And they really are sticky so be careful....once up they are hard to remove. I did succeed in removing one section however and starting over with a new set of tiles on that area.

The old wallpaper was adhered very well. Plus, the tile are very light, so I just went right over the top.

DanB .... Are they actually glass? It is great you could cut with scissors. The metal ones we used required a mitre saw.

Not glass, I think they are made out of recycled cafeteria jello. (Or maybe just a soft plastic......)

These look great, and we're considering something similar. Now that winter is over, have they stayed stuck?

Funny you should ask! Last week my wife, you is a 20 year employee at Lowe's, inspected the tiles. She tends to do this to better advise customers.
Happy to report that they all look good! No issues at all.

Are these backsplashes still looking good after a couple of seasons? Interested in backslashing my Classic bathroom.
