Mattress Foam

Has anybody bought mattress foam from thefoamfactory.com out of Michigan? Their prices look good, and we were thinking of buying standard size foam and trimming it with an electric knife to fit our custom twin beds when they're done. Thanks!

I got 6" foam from buyfoam.com and it worked out great. Put a 2" memory foam on top of that, covered with a stretchy fitted sheet and a custom mattress pad from AB Lifestyles. Only thing better would be a select comfort air bed.

Be aware of densities, bed foam not the same as foam of couch or dinette.
Sit on firm or your butt hits the plywood after a while, bed too firm and the memory foam is only way to correct, a medium foam and you might be able to skip the memory foam.
We use a couple of inches of memory foam on the original AS mattress and have comfort.

This is what I did and it worded great for me also. Went a step further and had a custom covers made to hold every thing together and match the gaucho.

custom topper

I had a 2" memory foam topper custom made for my original bed in my Excella. It has quilted covering that includes a thinner foam between two layers of cloth on both sides, so it is about 3" total thickness. For a queen size it was $140 + tax at Reliable Bedding in Archdale, NC. Standard queen sheets fit loosely. It is more comfortable than my mattress at home. I love it!!

We ordered the 8" mattress from Rocky Mountain Mattress ands liked it enough to order the same thickness for the twin beds in the new trailer. It comes in a cloth cover similar to a home mattress.

We ordered the Contura 9" TwinXL foam mattresses from Wal Mart at $269 each (including shipping), trimmed them down to match the width we wanted and modified the mattress covers to fit as well. We are extremely happy with the results. It would be possible to order a king and cut two out of it; we didn't because we thought modification of the covers might be more difficult, but maybe it wouldn't be. Anyway, that would have saved a little bit of $$.
