Changing Ambassador Layout

Hello. My wife and I have just purchased a 77' Ambassador that needs a lot of work. We pretty much have to replace everything. That being the case, we would like to change the interior layout. Can anyone direct us to folks that have done this.
Or are we taking on too much?

Thanks,

Use caution when making the rearrangement.

Keeping the tongue weight and correct side to side weights dictates how the trailer will handle when towing.

Drawing out your game plan, should help you see if your creating a problem, or not.

Kinda depends on what you want to move. Not only do you need to keep in mind the things Andy talks about, but also plumbing, electrical, etc. Moving the plumbing is probably the hardest thing to do, so think two or even three times if you’re thinking about moving the bathroom. After playing with floor plans to change Little Girl (72 Sovereign) from a rear bath to a rear bedroom, we finally gave up on that idea. We did not want to put a black tank above the floor, and getting the black tank into a new position in the middle of the trailer so it was under the toilet ending up being more than we wanted to take on. We are changing from twin beds to a single full size bed, but the basic layout of everything is going to be what it was before. So we won’t need to move the black tank, windows, the fridge vent, the furnace vents, water heater, etc. And by not moving any of these items, we won’t need to patch holes left in the exterior skin.

Having said all that, anything is possible with money and time. The main thing is to end up with a layout that you’re happy with.

We are slowly coming to the same conclusion. We would like a larger queen bed for us, and single beds for our 2 small children. Any suggestions of rearranging the current sleeping layout without moving bathroom or kitchen area. We are open to any and all ideas.

Thanks,

You might be better off finding a trailer with a layout that suits you than trying to change your trailer.

I'm not familar with the layout of your trailer. Do you have a drawing or diagram you can post?

Ours is a 78. We really enjoy having two full sizetwins=would it be possible to put bunks above them? We had a full size in our 65b but it really wasn't comfortable for two people.

The only thing that is left is the rear bathroom. I believe that it had 2 full size twins.

I really like the removable bunks that you put in. That may be a great option. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, they have served us well. It is not easy to fit six into a 19ft trailer, but we have made it work for us.
