Jacking Up My 72 O'lander ???

Anyone here ever jacked up there trailer while doing a resto ?? I want suspend it a couple feet off the ground so I can get under it easily. Where are the best points for jacking up an AS while working under it ?? My trailer is a 27' Overlander.

I'd put something very substantial under the frame, once you get it up where you want it, like log rounds. I'd do that both fore and aft. You could also just drive it up on ramps, 2x10s, and secure it so it won't roll off. Good luck- both those methods worked for me. -tim

clyde,
Jack up each side right behind where the supports are for the rear bumper. place a jackstand firmly under the main frame on each side. the go to the front and with the front jack all the way up place some wooden blocks under it and then using the front jack raise up the front of the trailer. then, put jackstands under the frame on each side and lower on to the jackstands. make sure you are under the main frame or you will put a hole in your belly pan. this is how i did my '73 and it is nice and stable and i have plenty of room underneath.

That sounds like it would put unecessary strain on the center of the trailer. Am considering what you have suggested with 2 more stands in the center under 4x4's supporting the axles. Going to do it this weekend, will let you know how it turns out. Thanks

If your jacking .Jack at the Shock mounts I believe is the correct place. Dont Skimp on the jack stands,we don't want that thing fallin on ya. If you are raising the whole trlr Id believe Id put two jack stands one on each frame rail behind the hitch.
