Replace AC with a Fantastic fan

Has anybody replaced their air conditioner with a vent or a Fatastic fan? My AC is knackered and nobody in the UK can work out what is wrong with it. I'm thinking about replacing it with a vent but have no idea how difficult this will be. Does any one have any experience or ideas?

Thank you,
Lucy.

Not sure which ac you have, there was one around 73 that didn`t have the 14x14 hole,it only had 2 copper lines coming thru,if that is the case then you would have to cut out the 14x14 after removing ac,then figure out how to get 12 volt up there, maybe a small converter. If your old ac used the 14x14 hole,it would be just getting 12volt.
That would be the last thing I would do to my trailer down here, but in the UK you are probably ok. Dave

Hi Lucy

We do it all the time, if you never have power the Fantastic is a lot handier than AC. If your 73 has the original AC removing it will be fun. It is held down with about 60 rivets that you need to drill out and then there will be half a pound of caulking around the inside to cut through.

The 12 volt and 110 volt wiring harnesses run down each side of the opening so be careful not to let the drill go through very far when drilling the rivets out.

Put rivets back in the holes and seal them with silicone caulking.

I hope this helps.
