Fantastic fan problem
I opened the vent in the trailer today ,electrically. The fan didn't go on . Believe it or not there was small pit jamming the fan.
My question ? Would that jam burn out the fan motor or is there a reset button I am unaware about ? I cleaned the contacts on the white wire at the switch ,the fuse is not blown . the water sensor still works. I removed the fuse from my other unit and everything stopped.
Are replacement parts available and is it worth it ? Should I just get a new unit ? Its a 600RBTA. I did the installation 3 yrs ago.TIA

I had mine not work just last month. It turned out that the trip switch that the vent door operates as it is opening was not working. All I did was to tap on it and lower and raise the vent a few times plus a shot of WD-40. It worked for me

My rain sensor fan quit too. Where do you find the fuse for it?
The top cover doesn't want to open automatically anymore either.

The fuse is in that small black knob next to the speed control. Twist to left and let it come down the fuse is there

I'll have to wait for the repair guy next week when he works on my refrigerator. I don't think I have the right gizmo. What do I need to check it?

It seems that the dome and the fan are on one circuit .I removed the fuse on the other unit and both the dome and the fan stopped simultaneously.I can only get the dome to work in the unit in question .I'm going to retest the fuse in the AM and W-D the switch again.

it is the plunger switch. The nut that holds it in is slightly loose. Loosen it a little then tighten it back up snuggly. The switch will make good contact then. This plunger it on the top of the fan under the dome. If that does not solve it, call Fantastic right away. They are beyond excellent with their customer service. I have dealt with this same issue twice now on customers trailers.

Mine did the same thing once in awhile.
I got up to the top of vent cover area while opened.
There was a ground wire attached to a bolt and nut. I wiggled it and whala, it continues to work.
Check the ground wire

Yep, their customer service is great. I just got around to installing my replacement interior vent shrouds. The 1998 originals were designed for a flat ceiling and eventually cracked. The new shroud is curved but when I put it in it didn't match the curve of the ceiling....After further inspection, I found 2 pieces of 2x4 jammed into the ceiling to flatten the curve to the point where the original flat shroud would look decent. I removed the 2x4s and pushed up on the ceiling and the aluminum popped back into round and the new shrouds fit perfectly.

Carol, get a semi quality "volt-ohm meter". Home Depot, Lowes, Radio Shack should be able to help you. Don't get the cheapest, but you don't need the top of the line. Digital is good for most everything. I bet other's will point you in what you need to know with your full timing. You'll be surprised how often you'll be using it, like checking your TV plug or battery or light switches or even checking continuity in a faulty fuse. Then practice with it, AC hot is usually the small slot in the AC plug and a black wire, AC neutral is usually the bigger slot in the AC plug and a white wire and shouldn't have very many volts on it to aluminum, AC ground is usually green and the odd round slot in the AC plug.
