Window operator / crank gear replacement 2005

I'm hoping someone in the community has encountered needing to change the window operator gearbox on a mid 2000's model. I've searched here on Airforums and as well on Airstream Addicts on Facebook and cannot find a correct match.

I have the new gearbox, but I am bewildered as to how to remove the old one. Two screws are incredibly easy to get to. The third is seemingly impossible. I have tried with a conventional screwdriver as well as a power driver with a long bit. Neither can engage the threads.

In looking at things as I am putting this post together maybe I could remove the E-clip and then the spring-arm. But then the pivot shaft that runs the width of the window would still be in place and it seems that is the most in-the-way object.

Pictures below. Advice anyone???
