Street side window broken on '71 sovereign

Hi all...We have a shattered glass problem out here in So. Calif. It's the street side, towards the front, the larger glass window, just between the two vista views. The frame is fine, the glass is shattered. Do I have to buy a whole new window from Airstream for $400 or is there another alternative?

A broken sidewindow is really too bad... You could replace it with Lexan from InlandRV, or you could try to find a glas window at the slavage (or ask Andy if he has one...).

Good luck!!

You can easily take a curved window frame apart.

However, you will find it near impossible to reassemble it, as some of the steel bars internally will be rusted. Therefore the window will severely bow, so those it will no longer seal.

Secondly, the gasket around the glass is history. That gasket is not for sale by Airstream.

Third, you will find it extreme difficulkt to reattach the top hinge.

Turn the window loss into your insurance company.
