Which bargman door lock?

Our 66 Safari has a Barg door set on it. On the inside of the door lock assy.,just below the knob is a brass pin/button that if you push it, it locks the door from the inside. Which lock set has this feature?
Thanks,
Barry

All the Bargman lock set are now obsolete.

No locks, no parts.

I'm pretty sure that's an L100 special. The dealership where I work has them sitting on the shelf.

OK , so I found a Barg L-100 a an old RV shop near here... It's new in the box... It does not have the lock pin on the inside part. $75.00. The reason I am even asking about this is my old Barg is very pitted on the exterior housing and knob. For $75.00 I would spring for the new Barg IF I could verify that I could replace ther outside housing and knod while still being able to use the rest of the inside lock set. So Andy, man of infinite AS wisdom, is that a doable deal can I swap out the old for new parts?
Thanks Andy and/or anyone else that can answer this question.
Cheers,
BTW The handle next to the door is also very pitted, it's cast but of what type metal I'm not sure, and is it repairable... as in rechroming it?

Barry, I replaced the original Bargman L-100 on my '67 with the newer style lockset 5 years ago. I could not find a way to use the old inside assembly with the new lockset as the door knob on the newer lockset pushes in and turns to lock the door instead of using the brass lock button. Your original lockset has a knob inside, my old inside set had a lever but also had a lock button. I would say change out the whole assembly as the locking mechanism is subject to failure. The new replacement (since it is the same basic design) will likely fail in the future too! Andy R. @ InlandRV just announced (in the last few days) a newer style replacement handle and lock assembly for the '66 thru '69 entry doors. My lock was a special as it had a longer bolt assembly inside than the standard L-100. I would ask Andy if the replacement has the longer bolt and if that applies to your '66. If you go with the one you found $75.00 sounds high for a discontinued lockset. Maybe you could buy it for less if you print out this thread and show them Andys post above. I am thinking of purchasing the new style lockset as a spare part for a future upgrade. "Parts is Parts"! Hope this helps, Ed

Thanks Ed... For itbeing a discontinued item, I wonder why several people have already written me and offered $150.00 for it? This is a NOS Bargman L100, still in orignal box. Hard to find maybe? The more I think bout it, I better buy it to replace my working just fine but ugly. Then again, I don't know crap about this stuff and will probably end up locking myself some where in the boonies at just the right time.

Maybe I'm being to haste though... I missed anything from Andy about a new better mouse trap, got any info on it?
Thanks for the reply.

Barry, Use the search function tab on the blue tool bar above and type in New Lock then scroll down to the thread by that name posted by InlandRV. Andy will have all the info so you can give him a call. InlandRV is located in Corona, Ca. As far as so quotes to buy for $150.00 Pick up some more @ $75.00 and sell to the highest bids! Did they read the post above where the poster (overlander63) said they have them on the shelf where he works? LOL! Ed

Thanks Ed for the link to Inland RV I will look it up. I am not sure if anyone contacted Terry (Overland 63) to see what the place where he works gets for the L-100, but maybe he will furnish a price being that he has access to them. Or at least the name of the place where he works. Seems like a few people need them so it would be a great service to us all if they have them for say $75.00 being that they are as Andy says obsolete for many years. LOL!!

Forum rules about vendors prohibits me from posting prices and links, but you can do a search for Airstream dealers in the city listed in my profile city and quickly find the website, and prices for the lock should be listed there.
