Overlander63..... so if I'm understanding you correctly everything you're saying makes sense if you're talking expressly about a media center set up. (for entertainment purposes only)

You can always buy a Chromecast for $35, plug it into your TV and stream everything on your laptop to it. As long as you have a router, you can connect all devices to the TV wirelessly.
