Are the CDs home-made music CDs? If so, it could be that the bit rate of the music file is not high enough to accommodate the complexity of the music so distortion occurs. If it is a professionally produced music CD like the kind you'd buy in the music department of a store then bit rate wouldn't be the problem. The bit rate can be changed in the software on your computer that you use to burn the music CD.
Is the same music CD distorted in, say, your car CD player?
