Rats nest in battery box

Made a count of the individual wires making up my battery box rats nest.

Emergency brake
Jack
Back up camera
TST TPMS repeater
Two mystery wires that lead inside the trailer
Positive and ground main battery cables

Tomorrows project is a small marine junction box mounted on the side of the battery box with one wire leading to the battery positive post. I found one in my box of swag from my sailboat cruising days that will work nicely."

Question for the pros,

What size wire should I use from the battery to junction box?

I have a bit of a nest starting in our battery box also. Will be interesting to get input on wire size.

I used six gauge on mine but I know 10 gauge should be enough be enough it all depend on how must stuff you plan un using. 10 gauge will handle 30 amps.

My suggestion: I suspect we're only talking about a couple of feet between the battery box & new junction box, but voltage loss is voltage loss and the cost of a short cable like that shouldn't be a show-stopper. So, within reason the thicker the wires (one black and one red?) from the battery box to your new junction box, the better. For starters, I'd suggest they should be at least as thick as the main house wires that go to the battery box right now, and maybe one gauge thicker. What gauge is that wire?
