outside plug-in for shore power question

Excuse my lack of proper terminology. My new to me 2006 has an external shore power plug-in that requires a thread on power cord. The flip-up door and threaded housing was at some time broken and I am trying to replace it. The new part that I got appears to designed to be able to insert it from the outside but the old housing won't come out unless I break it in pieces. Am I missing something here or do I need to remove the lag sink and cabinets to try to access this junction box from the trailer's interior? Hope that makes sense.

It should be possible to remove the outlet from the exterior of the trailer by removing the four screws and running a putty knife between the inlet and the trailer shell to free it from the sealant.

If your existing housing is the plastic style then it does anchor from the inside and will have to be broken apart.
