battery advice

I found two of these batterys for $80.00 bucks a piece can anyone tell me if they will work well and if it is better to just get a 12v instead of two 6

also do you really need venting or should I just spend the money on an AGM

They are the Interstate Workhorse U1800 .

Popular question. This thread might answer some of your questions HERE. Venting is a good idea even with some sealed batteries.

Venting is always a good idea. Batteries give off explosive hydrogen gas when charging. The chance of a fire or explosion is remote but why take chances?

I had a Interstate deep cycle for 5 years. There are definitely better higher amp hour batteries if you want to pay the bucks. It's a trade off between $ and quality. The hydrogen sulfide gas thing convinced me to go AGM this year. I have heard it both ways on venting AGMs. I don't see how mine can off gas. Is there some kind of pressure release plug?
