Honda Generator Ramp Up

My twin 2000i Honda generators have always started the AS AC with no problem running in parallel.
Now, one of them consistently overloads and the AC fails to start.
Both generators will individually power the AS electrical system through the parallel kit. So, I assume they are also running in parallel when both on.
My suspicion is that one of the generators is not "ramping up" under load. Is that possible?
Alternatively, it was 90+ degrees here yesterday. Could the compressor on the 5 y/o Dometic Penguin 13.5K AC be getting older, and, thus needing more juice to crank?

Put them both on high idle before you turn on the air and see what happends. Also check your parallel wires and connections. You may have to get your generators load tested individually, you could do it yourself actually with something that draws more than 15amps.

Same problem here in Fla yesterday when using our Hondas for the first time in a long time. Tried loading them in economode by firing the AC and water heater all at once. Didn't work. I restarted the Hondas in the higher mode, let em run a bit then fired up the AC until it began to cycle on and off then set the Hondas back to economode. Those Hondas ran all night long in economode with the AC running just fine.

You need to rum them for at least 30+ minutes monthly. Try to have it pull a load. I use my electric leaf blower; it pulls a load.

If you let them sit for a month or more you need to drain the carburetors so the gas in them dont evaporate and leave deposits which will cause the motor to loose power or cause the motor to not start if bad enough.

Got the AC going.
Shut all draws off including fridge and cable box.
The Hondas cut in real close on the amps for start up when it's scalding hot out.

You might want to check/replace the capacitor in the airconditioner. If it has failed your power consumption on start-up will go way up from normal.
