We've pretty much decided to buy the Honda eu2000i generator. I know alot of you have one & before I search the entire internet for prices, I thought I'd go to the experts for their insider info on the best deal online. I could spend the next week looking! Thanks for your help!
I bought my Honda from a private party, so I can't help with that. Don't waste your time searching on the internet. Part of the deal that dealers have with Honda is that they will not publish their prices...
Those are some pretty good prices, considering locally they are $999. I'm wondering about warranty service (if you are so unfortunate to need it)...How do you go about doing that if you buy it from across the country? Does a local dealer take care of that, or do you have to send it back to where you bought it from?
I never had any problem getting service through my local dealer even though I didn't purchase from them. I've had mine about 6 years and it went in to the shop only once to have the carb cleaned because of running old gas.
Other dealers that ship are:
Ball 877-225-5200
Hicklin 800-234-8989
Sampson 877-483-3071
Speedway 888-617-7333
Your best bet is to call them as they can't post prices on the web. (Honda's stupid rules) Most have free shipping
We got our generators at Wise Sales, http://www.wisesales.com/ 1-800-916-9473. They ran a special in July on Honda EU2000i generators for $869 with free shipping and no sales tax. The parallel kit for RV runs another $199. They seem to be a reputable company, at least we had a good experience with them.

Becky---Consider buying locally. Tell them other dealers are willing to sell at xxx$, but you prefer to support the local businesses and ask for a price below their sticker price that you can live with. I did that recently and got $899, fully serviced and full of oil and gas. Also got a demo on how to start it and service the air cleaner etc. I'm very pleased with the Honda 2000.
Well, Bob, that's exactly what we did. My husband got it locally for $900 & he picks it up Thursday. He didn't think the $40 difference was as big of a deal as supporting the local guy. He bought "me" a flatscreen/dvd player for the Airstream for my birthday. We brought the trailer out to boondock for the fall/winter hunting area & our current generator didn't get along very well with the tv. I told him about everyone raving about the Honda 2000 on this forum & he needed one (says it's for me, even though I rarely go out there!)
Hopefully he & our sons will enjoy it (along with my tv!). Thanks everyone for all your information.
