What CRH said. The flasher is kept in the tube and is easily plugged in the ckt. I leave the fuse in line.

It was easy, tap into an always hot 12v circuit that is capable of delivering 10 amps, fuse the tap, run to a switch, and connect the switch to ANY wire that runs to a tail or running light. It will work no matter where you tap in to the light circuit. Near the tail, near a marker, or near the umbilical.

Sure does sound easy. Uhm, I have a friend who could probably benefit from pictures or diagrams. If you have any, I'd sure appreciate it - on behalf of my friend who'd need them - I don't, of course...

If you are plugged into shore power you'll be running off the AC/DC charger and your batteries won't drain. Not sure what the extra load does to the multistep/multivoltage chargers, but like you said it shouldn't matter so much if your using LED's.

The only time I have heard my PD converter fan run was while plugged into AC and the exterior lights on for about three hours. Suggest to me that the exterior lights (collision marker lights are all non LED) must draw a large amount of amps.

Mine run on a ten amp fuse no problem.
My GUESS is that the circuit draws about 7 amps.

I'm thinking that it should run off the battery with the house power connected, thus saving the battery. True?

I actually went full-on crazy with mine, and added a keychain remote gizzy. Now if I'm being chased through the dark woods by an enraged grizzly, I can turn on the trailer lights before I get there.
Park Ranger: "That's odd; I've never seen a keychain remote in grizzly bear scat before!"
