LED light replacement

Our overhead led light quit. I can't find just the replacement only the complete assembly for $55. The dealer had no suggestions.

You can look in the owners manual (see link below) on page A - 9 for a listing of the light bulbs:

http://www.airstream.com/files/libra...8b109e8fcc.pdf

You could go to the Airstream website and download the 2011 Flying Cloud parts manual which lists all the light fixtures in the trailer.

http://www.airstream.com/files/libra...98f5ce7ddc.pdf

Page II - 38

Also, remove the light bulb and use a web search for a LED bulb vendor like:

LEDs 4, Recreational Vehicles

Product Search

to convert to LEDs.

The "bulbs" in the LED lights installed by Airstream are not replaceable. You have to replace the entire fixture. Would suggest you check here for possible replacements.

Has anyone replaced the original fixtures, which I assume are "bright white", with "warm white" equivalents, Happy with the results?

We had an LED light go out in our 2011. I thought about changing to warm until I discovered the entire fixture had to be replaced. I couldn't afford to change them all and I think mixing warm and bright would look odd.

I mix bulb colors. We use bright in shower, above the toilet, above the lavatory sink. We installed a 3 led bright white bulb inside the fridge. We use a combination above the kitchen sink. I use warm for lighting every where else. We tried bright where we sit while we read, but found that light too harsh for our eyes so we changed those to warm. I left the original bulbs inside the storage areas.

I had a 2006 Safari, and now have a 2012 Eddie Bauer - I converted to LED - bulbs only in the 2006. Got them from Out of Doors Mart. The fixtures in my 2012 look identical to the 2006 - so I find it hard to believe you can't just change the bulbs in the newer ones. I'll check tomorrow. I like the bright white in the bathroom, but I was planning to go to the warm white in the bedroom.

Upon taking a closer look at my 2012 - the LED fixtures ARE different. DARN.

One thing I DID salvage from the old 2006 was some of the LEDS - Plus I had just bought some from OODM and hadn't put them all in.

So, anyone with a 2005-2006 who wants to convert TO LED, please PM me. I see no point in carrying these around until I attend another rally. I'll sell them for half what I paid. I have both the ceiling type puck replacement light, the spotlight replacements, and a few of the conversion stick-ons for the dinette and kitchen under counter fixtures.

shop around

I just replaced all the automotive 1053 style bulbs with LED's and paid less that $3.00 per bulb. I have seen the same bulb in RV dealer for $23.00.
It pays to be frugal and shop around.

Solar Panels | Solar Kits | Solar Products - SolarWholesaler.ca
is a solar dealer in Calgary Alberta Canada who imports them from ?????? China????

They give off good light and so far I am very pleased.

I bought a whole kit including charger and inverter for a very reasonable price.

LED recessed ceiling light fixture in 2011 International

We have an interior light not working in our 2011 International. As mentioned in an earlier post, it appears you have to replace the entire fixture. Has anyone done this repair? I am 10 hours away from the nearest dealer. Just wondering about level of difficulty.

I just ordered a replacement light for my 2011. $56. You have to order from a dealer. Airstream wouldn't sell it to me direct. I can't tell by removing the glass lense how to get the fixture out. I'm hoping when the new one gets here it will come with instructions or it will be obvious how it attaches. My fear is the bottom interior of the roof locker will have to be removed.

I spoke to the dealer today and they didn't offer much insight on how to install the fixture. Let me know if yours comes with instructions. I hope these things don't burn out frequently.

I ripped out the fluorescent stuff, made a grid using 1/4x1/4 hardware cloth (galvanized welded wire mesh). Wire tied some LEDs, wired 'me in and WallaWalla, better light!

Our local dealer had no clue either. In fact he didn't even believe me when I told him I had to order a whole new light. He was convinced I only needed a LED 'bulb'.

I had that same discussion as well with my dealer. Took a few minutes for me to convince him you couldn't just replace the "bulb".
