1969 Bathroom Light Covers

Can anyone tell me if these type of light covers were on any other A/S? I am beginning to believe this light cover was ONLY on the 1969's.

It was only on the 69's. I bought a used pair off of ebay two years ago at over a hundred bucks. they aren't bad, old ones were baked and melted. Nobody makes them. I did find a product that allows you to cast replacement lenses I saw on DIY network that apparently works really well, you just have to repair your old ones with whatever is necessary to make a good template. If I recall you only need on good one, they are the same, just one is upside down.

I've watched this used on one of the restoration shows on DIY and the result was amazing. Cost isn't so bad, particularly if you need to make more than one. You can do it very high tech, but the guy on DIY did it in a plastic container with basic tools from the garage/kitchen.

You make a silicone mold of your exisiting lense, then simply mix the Alumilite clear (or white, or add colors like amber or red for maker lenses) then poor in and press the mold back together, works very well from what I've seen.

They have starter kits available that have all the materials for small jobs.

Scott, thanks for all the info. I think we have talked about this in the past, at that time I wasn't sure if this was the only year this light cover was put in the 1969 trailer. Looks like I need to jump off give it a try. Maybe I can make extras and sell to other 69 owners. HEE HEE I have one good lense and one with a hole burnt in it.

What is the correct bulb to use in that fixture to keep from melting a hole in it? Is it an 1141 bulb? Thanks...

My 69 Owners Manual says 1141 IF (that is the same number for the ceiling fixtures as well)

the Trunk compartment is a plain 1141.....don't know what the difference is. paula

The "F" after a bulb number means is "frosted."
