Bidet seat in an Airstream

Has anyone installed a bidet toilet seat in an Airstream? Seems like a way to reduce toilet paper in the black tank at the expense of a little more water. I was thinking of a non-electric model like this one from Koehler but there are many others.

I put in an non-electric washlet. A little more water in the black water tank and cutting back on paper are both a plus. I don’t recall the model. The installation was challenging given the limited space.

Did you need to replace the toilet with one with a bigger bowl or did the standard one work? Is it a full seat model or one of the little ones that attaches to the back?

The LoLoHo video is what started me down this path. If the handheld one is good, a built in one must be better! I bought the handheld one Sean reviews in that video and it is “fun.”

I also own the Toto portable, but that stems from a story from long ago.

When my son took his first job out of college, he went to Google (still there!). We would visit and noticed every stall in the restrooms had a Toto Washlet toilet. Full electronics.

Several years later I bought the ultimate Christmas gift for my wife, the Toto. And don't give me any grief! She wanted it! It has been with us for many years and I added one for my office also. You get to appreciate the finer things like a heated seat and "fresh rinsed" bowl. I'll stop there.

We also would like to add this to the trailer but did not think it was possible. The heated seat and water reservoir could be powered by the Alde' system requiring no wasted electricity. Custom seat tied into the heated towel rack. Yes! Add a second Shurflow pump and we're there. Sadly, it probably won't happen.

I'll be following this thread.

One of the items on my list of modifications was to replace the toilet seat with a soft close lid. The washlet came a bit later. The one I got fits between the seat and the bowl. Lux was the brand.

As mentioned before, space was a challenge. Make sure you have room for the controls.

Do you find the pressure of the normal RV pump is able to do the job with that unit?

I do not know if this link will work, but search in FaceBook for my group called AIRSTREAM ADDICTS FOR ADULTS. In the albums, it is called BIDET.

We have 2 portable bidets (Toto and Brondell) and in our house we had 2 toilet seat bidets. Since we sold our house and went full-time, we have really missed our toilet seat bidets. They are still in storage (far away from us), and we have considered adding the non-electric one to our Airstream to use when we have hook-ups. It wouldn't work for us when we are boon-docking for extended periods of time; however, there are so many benefits! Portables are ok, but a bidet seat is WAY better!

Thanks for the pic.

We miss our ToTo when traveling and since we always have at least electric and water hook ups, our next addition to the AS is a ToTo.....

I installed a Brondell simple spa thin line bidet in our Airstream. I had to order a different tee to fit the toilet valve. The one the comes with it is 3/4 and you need a 1/2 tee to make it fit. It’s a 1/2 male x 1/2 female x 3/8 tee. I think it was about $8.

We have a sprayer next to the toilet and it works great as a bidet. Nothing else needed.

First task was to install a bidet in the bathroom and a wood soft-close Dometic seat on the stock Thetford porcelain toilet. I also cut the 'tit' off the feed in the back of the toilet and installed a hardware store sprayer to help with general cleaning of the toilet.

I took the old PEX lines off from the toilet to the down elbow and made a new rig with the shortest possible connections and adding in a T fitting with a SharkBite reducer working down to the small tubing with a couple more fittings to a barbed fitting for the GenieBidet tubing (from Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )

I still had to drill out the hole in the floor behind the black tank coming up from the bottom over a bit more to gain an extra inch of clearance for the longer new piping setup. In the picture I laid the old piping behind the installed new one for reference.

I installed this same Bidet in my 'sticks and bricks' and it only took 5 minutes using the supplied hardware. ....sheesh... everything on this toaster is a lot harder to rig up. Tomorrow I tackle the kitchen faucet.

The link above seems broken but the GenieBidet can be found at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01INP9O7S..._FRzKDbNTM4ZAZ

Has anyone tried installing a true Toto Washlet bidet, I assume a round one. Just wondering if they fit?
