TStat and ECO Replacement on Water Heater

My water heater would light but would not turn off when it got to temperature. After reading this forum I figured the easiest first thing to do would be replace the Thermostat and ECO sensors. I ordered an Atwood repair kit 91447 and installed it. In case anyone is curious about this it is really easy, I took pictures to show the steps.

One thing I learned was how to tell the difference between the Thermostat and the ECO. The instructions said there would be a yellow dot between the terminals on the Thermostat. There wasn't one. On the back side of the units there were temperature markings (in Celsius). A quick conversion showed that 60C = 140F so that had to be the thermostat.

It took about five minutes and the only tool I used was a razor to open the packaging...

Oh yeah, taking pictures as I went was reassuring to make sure I put all the wiring back in the correct place.

I have the same problem, did it fix the problem?
How do you remove the thermostat, just twist it?
I assume the brown and brown wire are going to the thermostat (Tstat?)
What's in that plastic tube, is that a fuse?

It is a thermal fuse. It melts if the burner does not work properly and the flame backs up into the water heater control area.
